Historia:
Oasis es una banda británica de rock formada en Manchester a principios de los años noventa. Estuvo compuesta originalmente por el vocalista Liam Gallagher, el guitarrista Paul Arthurs, el bajista Paul McGuigan y el baterista Tony McCarroll, bajo el nombre de The Rain. Noel Gallagher se incorporó posteriormente como guitarrista y compositor principal, adoptando el actual nombre de Oasis.
Debido a las 10 millones de copias vendidas de su álbum debut Definitely Maybe, a las 20 millones de copias vendidas de su segundo álbum (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, y al hecho de que su tercer álbum Be Here Now es el más vendido en su primera semana en la historia de Inglaterra con 813.000 copias, Oasis se convirtió no sólo en uno de los grupos británicos más importantes de la década de los 90, sino de la historia del Reino Unido. Llevan también lanzados más de 25 sencillos, de los cuales 8 de ellos han alcanzado el puesto n°1 de las listas británicas, y 2 de ellos el puesto n°1 de las listas estadounidenses.
Los hermanos Gallagher son los líderes y compositores de la banda, y actualmente los únicos miembros originales. Son reconocidos también por sus constantes peleas entre sí y con otras bandas y artistas, como Blur y Robbie Williams, las cuales les han generado múltiples apariciones en la prensa sensacionalista.[3] La alineación actual se completa con el guitarrista Gem Archer, el bajista Andy Bell y el baterista Chris Sharrock.
En el año 2007, la banda fue galardonada con el BRIT Award a la «notable contribución a la música». En agosto de 2007 Oasis comenzó a grabar su séptimo álbum de estudio en Londres, y en enero de 2008 viajó a California para realizar el trabajo de mezcla.
